Fusion Sketchbook A6 - 130 GSM (FSB1) (Pack of 3)

A quality watercolour sketchbook should have at least 200-300 GSM, with 300 GSM being ideal for professional use or heavy washes. Anything under 140 GSM risks buckling and warping.

Yes, most watercolour sketchbooks handle ink and pencil, but mixed media paper (smoother surface) is specifically designed for combining wet and dry media for better detail work. Watercolour paper’s texture makes fine detail work more challenging.

Purchase from specialised online art supply retailers, dedicated stationery stores like Scholar Stationery, or specialist creative supply platforms that curate quality products.

Smaller sizes (e.g., A6–A5) are ideal for travel and fieldwork, medium sizes (A5–A4) are versatile for everyday use, and larger sizes (A3+) work well in the studio.

Both contain watercolour paper, but sketchbooks are designed for painting studies with minimal text, while journals often combine painting and writing sections. However, the paper quality may be the same.

Yes, heavier paper (around 300 GSM) can often be used on both sides, while lighter paper (around 200 GSM) may show bleed-through with heavy washes. The reverse side is usually smoother, though this can vary by paper.
