The Paper

Great for dry mediums and lettering or calligraphy as the texture of the paper does not damage the nibs. It is thick enough to hold a light wash of watercolors and works great with gouache and acrylics too. The natural shade base is great for realistic sketches and gives an earthy feel to the finished piece.

Exposed Spine Binding

A unique way to allow a book to fully open, exposed spine binding is the latest trend in the world of books. Exposed spine binding, also known as raw, open or naked binding utilizes the thread on the spine of a section sewn block as a design feature. The pages are sealed with an invisible glue which adds to it’s raw look. As no protective buckram is used to cover the spine, the pages open 180 degrees flat with amazing ease allowing two sided panoramic sketches. A word of caution; as there is no protection to the spine, these books are vulnerable to rough handling and therefore must be handled with care.
